An opportunity to bring out individual and collective talent is Zest n Zeal 2012. We, in the SDCMS aspire for the young minds to bring out their best in Academic, technical, creative as well as cultural talents. Zest n Zeal provides the most prominent platform where the students get an opportunity to interact with each other and to showcase their talent in their respective fields.

With a wide spectrum of events spread over two days   ranging from case studies to concerts, to mock boardroom games to music performances, strategy games to street plays, online simulations to quizzes etc., in all the events students get a chance to test their wit, skill and mettle against the best of the best from all around the northern zone and result in a pinnacle to judge the skill and competitive attitude of students..

We at Zest n Zeal 2012 have tried   to lives up to the SDCMS philosophy that places a huge importance on individuality and shapes the students’ characters to become responsible citizens. Because it is only when various ideas are exchanged people learn and that is what Zest n Zeal does.

The Next Kotler : Marketing Event

Marketing is not an event, but a process . . . It has a beginning, a middle, but never an end, for it is a process. You improve it, perfect it, change it, even pause it. But you never stop it completely. -Jay Conrad Levinson

It is going to be a 2 day event, i.e 23-24 March. 2012. The event will test the Marketing concepts of the participants through conduction of various activities.

Come experience the evolution of Marketing at SDCMS!!  -

 

 

The Initiation!!.....Product launch

Event Specific: The Initiation!!

  • Each team will comprise of 4 (four) participants from each institute.
  • A team should select a product or a service which is creative and preferably non-existent, i.e. totally new to the market.
  • Each team will be asked to present their respective product launch plan through power point presentation with maximum 20 PPTs, which summarize a complete idea of product launch plan.
  • These PPTs may include product/service description, STP, Point of parity (POP), Point of Difference (POD), USP, launching plan, media vehicles, and communication strategy, along with story board. Teams may also include various creative marketing aspects like tagline, slogan, jingle, ad copies, poster etc. for your presentation.
  • Each presentation will be of 15 minutes followed by Question-Answer of 5 minutes.
  • Judges will select best plans out of participating teams based upon following criterion: Product/service Newness, Creativity in Launching, Presentation and Integrated launching plan.

The ‘Ad-Guru’ - Ad Zap Competition
It is said that, ‘The art of publicity is a black art.’ Let’s prove it here! The market is yours and so are the products. Get set Sell!

Event Specific: The Ad Guru

·         2 members per team

·         This is a two stage event. In the first stage participating teams will be asked to flip through a magazine to choose a print ad and will be asked to better it keeping the theme of Zest n Zeal alive.

·         In the second round, 1 product will be given and they would be required to design an advertisement (Radio jingle and an AV commercial) for the same.The event will test the Creative skills of the participants.

·         In this no. of groups can participate with members of 5 in each group.

·          We will provide them on the spot topics on which they have to prepare an Advertisement and then perform on the same.

AD-TEASER

AD-TEASER is an online Teaser Ad competition being launched for Zest n Zeal 2012 for all the creative marketing enthusiasts. Teaser ads often used in the introduction of a major motion picture or a new product are brief advertisement designed to tease the public by offering only bits of information without revealing either the sponsor of the ad or the product being advertised. A typical teaser campaign will often carry a cryptic message which succeeds in grabbing some amount of viewer attention.

 

Event Specific:  AD-TEASER

Ad- Teaser invites entries for teaser ads in the form of 3-4 sequential interconnected photographs where the campaign message / product is revealed in the final frame.

This is an individual participation event

o    Corporate Campaign

Some say that successful entrepreneurs are born, not made. Others disagree, saying good entrepreneurship is a talent that can be learned and nurtured. The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. The desire to create and grow a business – large or small – requires a combination of character, talent, vision, energy, timing, and a bit of luck.

Inception for The Bottom of the Pyramid (BOP) is the largest, but poorest socio-economic group. Here we ask you to design an interface for a product or service of your choice targeting the Indian BOP developing marketing strategies so that projects can reach from the tables of the corporate CEO’s to the grass root level of the Indian consumer strata. You are required to submit an abstract on-line for such an interface which can cover any product/service (Abstracts should be in about 500 words)

E.T.S.I (Every Thing Starts with an Idea) - Idea Generation!! –

 Business Plan Contest

If you have ideas, you have the main asset you need, and there isn’t any limit to what you can do with your business and your life. Ideas are any man’s greatest asset!!!!

Event Specific: E.T.S.I.

·                     Participants must register as teams of 2-4 people.

·                     Participants can come up with innovative, original, untested ideas on their own or drawn from anywhere- the Internet, magazines, newspapers, friends etc. The proposed product or service should not already exist elsewhere in the real world/market.

For both Inception for The Bottom of the Pyramid (BOP ) and E.T.S.I.

·                     Participants are required to submit their business idea and opportunity evaluation in a detailed feasibility study report.

·                     Participants are required to submit their Business-Plan in soft copy on info@sdcamzn.in E-mail before 1 March 2012.

·                     The winning team will be chosen on the basis of a written report and a 8-10 minute Power Point presentation presented or given to judges.

 Human resource management involves a good leader, a healthy work environment, and a good job to produce a motivated employee. A results-oriented approach to employee relations requires multiple management skills which requires continuous communication, initiation, implementation and control.
Come participate in The Human Factor at Zest n Zeal 2012 to know how good of a “resource” are you to manage the “humans”. Let’s put
you through a gruelling tests with a whole range of negotiations, conflict resolutions and contingency planning.

  

BootKamp - Role Play

Role-playing game is a game in which the participants assume the roles of characters and collaboratively create stories. Participants determine the actions of their characters based on their characterization, and the actions succeed or fail according to a formal system of rules and guidelines. Within the rules, they may improvise freely; their choices shape the direction and outcome of the games.

Event Specific: BootKamp

  • A team will be comprises of 5-6 members.
  • A role play game will be given to each team to play .
  • 15 minutes will be given to each team for thinking and 5 mins for Role Play.
  • The marks will be given by the respectable Judge on the following  basis.

a. Confidence, b. Teamwork, c. Conclusion to the problem, d. Expressions,

 e. Question and Ans.

The Index Factor - Finance Event

An untouched curve…Do we all agree that curves in the SENSEX are affected only by the MARKET MOOLAH?? Well, there are these less spoken factors that do affect the SENSEX, and we put our economists and nascent investors to study the assortment of market factors and take charge of ethically and environmentally responsible investing. The first of its kind investment game; incorporating scenarios of climate change, development and the affairs of state. In short, THE COMPLETE MARKET VISTA.

The Index Factor-- (Stock Market Game)

1.      Puzzle round- In this round one financial puzzle will be given to the participants and they have to complete it within 30 minutes.

2.       Financial Quiz and each team have to answer the questions and it will of 30 minutes duration.

3.       Financial Forecasting in which participants are given on topic and they have to forecast the situation given to them time duration 45 mins.

  • The event will test the Finance concepts of the participants; details will be provided at the beginning of each round.

Gifts and Prizes

·        There will be three prizes (Ist, IInd, IIIrd ) for the winners of event. For few events even cash prizes would be forwarded.

·         All participants will be awarded Certificates.

·         Surprise Gifts for the student’s Nights.

·         Champions Trophy and Cash Prize of Rs. 15,000/- for the Institute heading the prize tally.

·         Runners –Up Trophy and cash prize worth Rs. 10,000/- for the Institute at the 2nd position in prize tally.

Note: SDCMS will not be contesting for Champions Trophy or the Runner – up Trophy.

Rules and Guidelines

  1. Students participating have to carry their ID cards on all two days of the fest.
  2. The campus is strictly on a no smoking zone.
  3. Decorum must be maintained under the supervision of the management.
  4. All decisions of the panel/management are final. A student can participate in the maximum of five events.
  5. There is NO registration fee for any of the events.
  6. Though On the Spot registration will be allowed in certain events, it is preferred if you register in advance.
  7. The Events begin on 23-24 March, 2012 at 9.30 AM with an inauguration ceremony at the SDCMS campus. All are welcome.
  8. The teams have to report to the registration desk on. 23-24 March, 2012 At 9:30 AM sharp.
  9. Formal attire would be appreciated for the management events.

 A Case Development Workshop on Entrepreneurship

 

The students of MBA 2nd Year are organizing a workshop  Biz Baazi’ on success cases in entrepreneurship on 16th Sept., 2015 ; as an enhancement to the course curriculum of their subject of entrepreneurship. The objective of the workshop is to bring out the true entrepreneurial potential of our students by analyzing and learning through the success cases of startups and presenting how they have become high impact companies today. This workshop is particularly for the students of MBA. DeMFIESTA - Design Thinking and Management

DeMFIESTA program on the topic "Design Thinking and Management" was organized for the students of MBA department under IQAC in SD College of Management Studies.

 

Today, on 22 December 2023, DeMFIESTA program was organized on the subject of Design Thinking and Management for the students of MBA department under IQAC at SD College of Management Studies. In which the various activities were performed by MBA students. In which they participated with great enthusiasm. First of all, the program was inaugurated by College Principal Dr. Alok Kumar Gupta and spokesperson Ritu Mittal by lighting the lamp infront of the idol of Maa Saraswati.

 

Principal Dr. Alok Kumar Gupta expressed his views and said that the program process is proposed from December 2023 to January 2024. The objective of which is to make the students aware of various activities of management. Further leading the students, he told that to be successful in Business or Corporate career, one should have good interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.

 

In the program, coordinator and spokesperson Mrs. Ritu Mittal said in her words that in today's program the students mainly demonstrated their talent through Powerpoint Presentation and role play related to the tasks of Human Resource Management. She further said that such activities for the students will provide them with the ability to better face the challenges that will come in the future when they are on the job or handle their own businesses. Students can find innovative solutions to any complex problem by thinking through creativity. However, thinking outside the box can be a real challenge because we naturally develop patterns of thinking that are based on repetitive activities and commonly received knowledge that we surround ourselves with.

 

Dr. Vibhuti Aggarwal, Mrs. Parul Kumar and Mrs. Purvi Sangal from MBA and BBA department respectively were asked to judge the performances of the students. The students enthralled everyone by showcasing their ideas and skills through the projector presentation and role play. In which mainly Ananta Garg, Srishti Tyagi, Arjun Singh and Aarti gave their presentation on the qualities of a Human Resource Manager. After this, in role play, students Aarti, Ananta, Srishti, Adeeba, Shikha Goel, Chhaya, Arjun Singh, Deepanshu, Vishal Dhiman and Tushar Tiwari demonstrated how to maintain good market value and customer satisfaction through creative thinking by taking an example of ACC Cement company and how the company prioritizes requirements of customers timely and look out for innovative solutions to better maintain its position in the market. Whole program was anchored by student Priyanshu.

 

Among the students selected by the judges, first place was secured by Ananta Garg, second place was given to Aarti, third place was given to Arjun Singh and consolation prize was given to Srishti Tyagi. The participants participating in the program were honored with certificates as appreciation of their excellent performance.

 

In the program mainly all the teachers and staff members from MBA and MCA Prashant Tomar, Parul Kumar, Devesh Gupta, Ashish Kumar, Ankur Aggarwal, Mahima Mangal, Annu Tyagi, Aastha Singhal, Tushar Bhardwaj, Sandeep Garg, Rashmi Kaushik and Ravi Bhargava etc were present.

DeMFIESTA - Finance

Students of MBA department under IQAC in SD College of Management Studies organized a workshop on the topic "Finance" under DeMFIESTA.


On January 10, 2024, a workshop on the topic "Finance" was organized under DeMFIESTA by the students of MBA department under IQAC at SD College of Management Studies. In which the following activities were given to MBA students. In which they participated with great enthusiasm. This is the second activity of the process going on from December to January. First of all, the program was started by College Principal Dr. Alok Kumar Gupta ji and Dr. Sandeep Mittal ji by lighting the lamp and by garlanding the statue of Mother Saraswati.


First of all, Principal Dr. Alok Kumar Gupta expressed his views and said that the objective of the program is to make students aware of various activities of finance. Leading the students, he told that in finance various things are involved like banking, loan, investment, management of capital, accumulation, liabilities, creation and study. It combines international financing, multi currency training, lease etc. Explaining the financial sector under the workshop, it was said that along with managing the flow of money through financial technologies, it manages various financial functions and institutions.


Convenor & spokesperson in the program, Mrs. Aastha Singhal and Mr. Tushar Bhardwaj said in their own words that today's program mainly included financial activities like bank, loan department, key words of finance etc. The program made people aware of finance whether it is personal finance, corporate finance or public finance. They further said that such activities will provide the students with the ability to face the future challenges in a better way, be it professional or industrial.


It is a special scheme provided by the Bank for home loan facility with the aim of meeting the housing need of urban poverty. Students can find solutions to any complex problem by thinking creatively. Related to this, students showcased their talent through PPT and role play.


Mrs. Ritu Mittal, Dr. Vibhuti Aggarwal, Mrs. Parul Kumar played important roles in the jury of the program. The students enthralled everyone by showcasing their ideas and skills on the subject of Finance through the projector. In which mainly Isha Singh, Chhaya, Misba, Tanya, Khushi, Muskaan, Saloni, Ananta Garg, Brahmi gave their presentation about home loan, Srishti Tyagi, Arjun Singh and Aarti gave their presentation on the merits of credit card.


After this, the role play by students Aarti, Adiba, Shikha Goyal, Chhaya, Vishal Dhiman and Tushar Tiwari was based on maintaining the functioning of the bank through creative thinking and always giving priority to customer satisfaction. The stage was successfully conducted by students Srishti Tyagi and Ananta Garg.


The participants in the program were honored with certificates in appreciation of their excellent performance and they were wished for their bright future. At the end of the program, Mrs. Ritu Mittal ji concluded the function by encouraging the students in her own words.


The program mainly included all the teachers, staff and students from MBA, MCA and D.El.Ed. like Mrs. Babli Tomar, Prashant Tomar, Parul Kumar, Devesh Gupta, Ashish Kumar, Ankur Aggarwal, Rajeev Kumar, Varun Kumar, Sandeep Garg, Rashmi Kaushik and Ravi Bhargava were present.

Live telecast of Indian Economy Interim Budget 2024-25 was shown for MBA/MCA and BTC students under IQAC at SD College of Management Studies.

 

Today, on 01 February 2024, a live telecast of the Interim Budget 2024-25 was shown in the MBA auditorium at S.D. College of Management Studies. The program was started by College Principal Dr. Alok Kumar Gupta. Students of MBA, MCA and BTC participated in the program. All the participants attracted everyone by presenting their views on the budget.

 

Before the Lok Sabha elections, the interim budget of the Modi government was presented in the Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sita Raman on 01 February 2024. In which Finance Minister Nirmala Sita Raman said that this is the 10th budget of the Modi government. All the students and lecturers of MBA, MCA and BTC understood the fine details of the budget through the projector, after which the college made all the students participate in a seminar and gave information about various aspects of the budget.

 

College Principal Dr. Alok Kumar Gupta said that India's economy is moving in the right direction and is moving towards a bright future. Drawing attention to the changes taking place in various sectors like solar panels, banking sector, economic corridor, agricultural industry under the budget, he told how much employment and entrepreneurship opportunities are increasing due to the efforts of the Central and State Government. With complete information, incomparable confidence can be awakened in the students to work in the corporate sector, which is the key to success. The straightforward presentation of the budget was especially commendable.

 

Spokesperson Mahima Mangal said that keeping in mind the modern times, entrepreneurship and digitalization have been promoted in this budget through new technologies. In which further exemption in tax for one more year has been given to startups, which was 3 years before. She further said that the government wants to take the country's carbon emissions towards “zero” by 2070, for which they talked about encouraging electronic vehicles. Along with this it was talked about creating 3000 industrial training institutes for youth empowerment. She also told that the Government has planned to provide free vaccination to the girls of age 9 yrs to 14 yrs who are suffering by cervical cancer.

 

MBA students Saloni, Adeeba, Aafia, Rupal, Muskaan, Bushra and Arjun etc. especially understood the budget in the program and presented their views saying that it has different effects on different sectors of the economy. They told that no change was made in the tax slab. It was also announced to focus on villages, increase funds for women and farmers.To analyze these impacts, the students of MBA Finance specialization took special interest in it and presented the discussion by collecting special information about key sectors like direct tax, corporate tax, impact on the economy, cervical cancer, impact on demand and infrastructure etc. By presenting presentations on topics like "Corporate Tax, "Importance of Union Budget for Youth", "Agriculture Sector", "Digitalization Budget 2024-25" etc., everyone was given important information about various sections of the budget. In this sequence, BTC student Priyanka, while discussing the budget, she said that in the electricity allocation, 300 units of electricity would be distributed every month to more than one crore houses in the next five years.

 

The program was successfully conducted by the Finance Specialization of Department of MBA. In which mainly spokespersons Devesh Gupta, Tushar Bhardwaj and Aastha Singhal expressed their views on this budget and said that big announcements and provisions have been made in the budget. A scheme to empower 3 crore women is being started under Lakhpati Didi Scheme.

Grand organization of annual festival “Agaaz – 2024” with colorful cultural programs under the aegis of SD Group of Colleges. On 13/01/2024, the annual festival of "Agaaz - 2024" was organized under the aegis of SD Group of Colleges. The inauguration ceremony of the program was done by the chief guest Mrs. Meenakshi Swaroop ji (Chairman, Municipality, Muzaffarnagar), special invited member Prof. Dr. Narendra Sharma (Vice Chancellor, Motherhood University, Roorkee) and college secretary Mr. Neeraj Kumar, Mrs. Preeti Kumar ji and management committee members Mr. Hari Bhushan Gupta, Mr. Devendra Kumar, Mr. Vinod Kumar, Mr. SK Gupta, Mr. Akash Kumar, Mr. Neelkamal Puri, Mr. Mukul Bhushan ji, Mr. Ashish Bansal ji, Mr. Shishir Sangal ji, Mr. Dhuvar Kumar ji etc. by lighting lamps and offering garlands in front of Maa Saraswati.

 

Management Committee members and guests encouraged the teachers and students by giving them certificates and mementos. In the closing ceremony, Dr. Sanjeev Balyan ji (Minister of State for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy) as the chief guest and guest of honor Dr. Vibhu Sahani (Chairman, Finance Committee, PCI) presented mementos to all the students. Colorful cultural programs were organized by the students in their honour. Special lucky draws were conducted during the programme. In which the first prize was an LED, the second prize was an OTG oven and the third prize was a music system. Apart from this, other different types of prizes were also given through lucky draws. .

 

College Principal Dr. Alok Kumar Gupta, Principal Dr. Sandeep Mittal, Principal Dr. Sachin Goyal, Directors Dr. Arvind Kumar and Dr. Siddharth Sharma, Principal Dr. Renu Garg appointed several committees for the successful conduct of the program, in which different teachers were given different responsibilities so that the program can be conducted smoothly..

 

The program started with the presentation of Ganesh Vandana by the first students and then various programs were presented by the students of MBA/MCA, BBA/BCA, BTC, BFA, BA, B.Com, B.Sc., B.J.M.C. and B.Pharma. In which B.Sc (HS) students did Due Dance, Punjabi Meshup Group dance. A performance namely Vighan Haran Mangal Karan was very nicely presented by MBA students. It included a heartwarming performance on Ram Aayenge by students Kartik, Dipanshu, Vishal, Brahmi, Tanya, Tushar, Arjun, Isha, Saloni, Chhaya, Shikha, Tanu, Aanchal, Shrishti. A Fusion Dance was very nicely presented by MCA students namely Kalash, Simran, Tanaya Tyagi, Chinki, Aditi and Meenakshi D.El.Ed students' folk songs depicting the Indian civilization were presented on the cultural songs of different states like Punjabi Aakakshaan, Swati, Marathi - Priyam and Aarti, Rajasthani - Vidhi and Kajal, Kashmir - Manju and Priyanka, Haryanvi - Varsha and Swati Rani, Gujarati - - Tanu Goliyan and Shivani Pal presented dance. .

 

Exceptional Academic Award of the Year: Many teachers from each department were honored with a certificate and academic award from the management for their excellent work in the field of education. In the programme, long serving skilled teachers of SD Group of Colleges were honored with shawls and certificates and non-teachers were honored with certificates and trophies. In this sequence, they encouraged the fourth grade employees by giving them blankets. Best Student Award were given to MBA department students Priyanshu Pal and student Chhaya from first year 2023 and Shivansh Tyagi and student Priyanka Royal from second year 2022 and Ajay Kumar and student Meenakshi Dhariyal from MCA first year and Sumit and Aditi student from second year and D.El.Ed 2021-23 Anurag and student Muskaan Verma, 2022 - 24 student Anuj Kumar and student Priyanka Saini, 2023-25 student Anshul Kumar and student Kajal. Similarly, Student Achievers Award in which Aditi Rajvanshi, student of MBA 2020-22, for getting second position in AKTU University, Rishabh Singal of MCA 2017-20 for making library software, MBA 2023-25 student Maud Nauman Roy for Air Shooter at National Naval, Mayank Tyagi for Rifle Shooter at State level and student Aarti for getting Gold Medal in Fighting and Silver Medal in Kata at National level and D.El.Ed. Maud Saqib, Shubham Kaushik, Nagma Praveen were honored for academic performance in 2019-21..

 

At the end of the program, College Secretary Mr. Neeraj Kumar expressed his words and said that all the participating students presented amazing programs and showcased Indian culture. Also appreciated the efforts of the students to make the function a success. During this, he thanked all the chief guests, teachers and students present there.
